Does POP have age requirements for PreK and Kindergarten?
Yes. Children applying to PreK3 must turn 3 by September 1. Children applying to PreK4 must turn 4 by September 1. Children applying to PreK5 must turn 5 by December 31. Kindergarten students must turn 5 on or before September 1.
What is your immunization policy?
Per the Diocese of Dallas, all students must be up to date on their vaccines each year according to the Texas Department of State Health (commonly known as the "Texas Minimum State Vaccine Requirements"). We do not accept conscientious exemptions or waivers. We cannot process your child's application until they are up to date on their vaccines.
What are the school's teacher-student ratios?
Each classroom in grades PreK3 through first grade is staffed by a certified teacher and full-time teacher assistant.
PreK3 - PreK5 averages 8 students per adult.
Kindergarten - 1st grade averages 12 students per adult.
In 2nd grade, we have one full time teacher assistant, for a ratio of 17-18 per adult.
In 3rd - 5th grade, we have one full-time teacher assistant per grade level, for a ratio of 19-20 per adult.
In 6th - 8th grade, we divide Math and English classes into four sections, for a ratio of 19-21 in those sections and 26-28 in the remaining classes.
In addition to these classroom teachers and assistants, our teaching staff includes 5 learning specialists, two licensed counselors, two technology teachers, two Spanish teachers, an art teacher, a music teacher, a media center specialist and three physical education teachers-- all for the purpose of giving students a full, well rounded elementary school experience.
Do you have to be Catholic to attend POP?
No! We are blessed by the presence of many strong non-Catholic families. Though we are proudly Catholic, we are open to all families of good will seeking an excellent education for their children rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Do students attend Mass?
Yes. Our Kindergarten - 8th grade students attend All-School Mass every Monday morning. Our PreK3 - PreK5 students worship together every Wednesday.
Is there a multi-child discount?
Yes, we do offer a multi-child discount. Please see more about our tuition and affordability under financial information.
What are the requirements for parishioner rate tuition?
For a family to pay the parishioner tuition rate, at least one parent must be a practicing Catholic. Your family must be registered with Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
For current families, a minimum contribution of $1,000 per calendar year must be received by December 31, 2025, to the General Fund 2025 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
New families must complete the minimum $1,000 contribution to Prince of Peace Catholic Church General Fund 2025 by April 1, 2025, or have set up recurring payments to be completed by December 31, 2025, to receive the parishioner tuition rate.
Do you offer tuition assistance?
Yes, we do offer tuition assistance for PreK5 - 8th grade students. To apply for tuition assistance, you will need to complete and submit the FACTS online application for Grant and Aid.
Where do your students typically go after 8th grade?
The majority of our 8th graders will attend a local Catholic high school such as Bishop Lynch High School, Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas, John Paul II High School, or Ursuline Academy of Dallas. Some students attend other private high schools in the area.
How can I visit the school?
