Why have you chosen to work in Catholic education?
I felt very much called to be here when I came in 2019. I truly felt like I was participating in the plan God had for me in my life, which I'd never felt before. I love leading by example and, although I love teaching math, I really love being able to speak and teach about our faith freely to our students as well, both in literal ways and through acts and prayer.
Tips for success both in and out of the classroom?
Be growth-focused rather than grade-focused! It's important to do self-care for the mind, body, spirit. Deep intentional breathing can help us regulate our emotions and stay calm. We don't control anything outside of ourselves - only our reactions and behaviors.
Any hidden talents?
I can find a student's missing work in their binder that they "lost" or "never received." I can also identify a student's error or mistake in a math problem!
