Meet Ms. Paige Forgey! Now in her second year at POP, Ms. Forgey joins us from Tyler, Texas. Ms. Forgey boasts an extensive resume, holding multiple degrees from various institutions. She graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas magna cum laude with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies as well as summa cum laude with her M.A., also in Interdisciplinary Studies, both with concentrations in Public Administration. Ms. Forgey also holds an Associate's in Paralegal Studies from El Centro College. Additionally, Ms. Forgey his a certified shorthand reporter (CSR), holding licenses in both Texas and Oklahoma, as well as a national certification as a registered professional reporter (RPR). Finally, she is a certified mediator for the State of Texas.
Prior to joining the POP family, Ms. Forgey spent the last 20 years working as a paralegal in a wide range of legal practices including employment law, family law, civil litigation, and more. The majority of her career was spent as a trial paralegal in the area of insurance defense with a heavy concentration in trial preparation for cases filed in both Dallas and surrounding county courts. Ms. Forgey is a practicing court reporter and works in her "spare time" as a Scopist for the 78th District Court of Wichita Falls County. Ms. Forgey has worked on many interesting criminal cases and, with her loves of both English and reporting, she enjoys the task of making these transcripts “perfect” and “pretty” for the appellate judges.
In her free time, Mrs. Forgey enjoys reading, hiking, cycling, women's Christian fellowship and Bible studies, and entertaining or spending time at her family's lake house in East Texas. Additionally, the Forgeys enjoy traveling and spending summers in Colorado and Florida. Mrs. Forgey is an animal rescue volunteer and takes being called a crazy cat lady as a high compliment. However, Mrs. Forgey can also be spotted calling the Hogs as she comes from a long line of University of Arkansas alumni and enjoys rooting for the Razorbacks.
Any recent personal achievements? I've completed the HHH 100 rally, cycling down the famous Colorado Pike's Peak and having climbed the Manitou Incline.
What do you enjoy about your position? I recently retired from the paralegal profession and feel that God has answered this prayer by providing me the opportunity to work as a teacher assistant. It has been a wonderful experience and I have a new respect for teachers – we work hard! Working with kindergarteners has allowed me the blessing of seeing the simple joys of each day. I have a heart for serving and I am honored to do so for these children. My hope and prayer is to share my love of Jesus and to be a shining light for His Kingdom.
What's your favorite thing about working at POP? The people! I was made to feel so welcome on my first day of work, and every day therafter. I love being a part of something bigger and this is an extraordinary community. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your POP family.
