Say "¡Hola!" to Mrs. Elizabeth Afanador! Mrs. Afanador transitioned from teaching Spanish at John Paul II High School to POP in 2022. Mrs. Afanador considers herself blessed with the opportunity to teach middle school Spanish and guide students as they begin to learn a new language, which is the moment at which they develop a basic proficiency and confidence with the language in both its written and oral forms; establish a solid foundation for the construction and development of a new language; and begin using the language creatively and intuitively.
Mrs. Afanador grew up in Colombia, where she received her Bachelor's in Philology and Languages as well as her Master's in Second Language Acquisition. Mrs. Afanador is an accomplished world languages teacher and spends her summers grading AP Spanish exams.
