A flutist in her free time, Mrs. Chivers and husband Scott met in the high school marching band. Mr. and Mrs. Chivers share a daughter, Keira, who will be entering seventh grade at POP.
Mrs. Chivers graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies. Prior to teaching, she worked in the culinary arts as a cake decorator; naturally, Mrs. Chivers was thrilled to share her passion for creativity and love of learning with her students upon making the move to education! One of Mrs. Chivers's favorite things about teaching is seeing the progress her students make during the school and watching their personalities blossom along the way.
In her free time, Mrs. Chivers enjoys reading, crafting, gardening, and spending time with both her family and dog Max. Mrs. Chivers is known in kindergarten for her love of Hello Kitty and Harry Potter.
What do you enjoy about your job? There is never a dull moment teaching kindergarten. Each day is different, exciting, challenging, and rewarding!
Favorite class unit or project? The Boot Scootin' Boogie! Also, our butterfly unit - the students get to watch our classroom caterpillars transform into butterflies before their eyes!
