NBC DFW "Carter in the Classroom" Feature

POP Stars are on air! Students were excited to welcome Mr. Wayne Carter from NBC DFW for a classroom visit while they experimented with dry ice and bubble potions in the STEM Lab. Following the 2023 National Blue Ribbon School announcement by the U.S. Department of Education, NBC DFW aired special segments spotlighting the five 2023 NBRS awardees in the DFW metroplex. These special "Carter in the Classroom" features celebrate both the coveted recognition as well as the innovative teaching methods and unique learning experiences that facilitate student success in each school. Students had a wonderful time hosting Mr. Carter during their lab, and even Mrs. Megan Thompson and Mrs. Dottie Vakidis had the opportunity to elaborate on the benefits of both a collaborative workplace environment and opportunities for STEM integration in the classroom.
