The city of Plano gave final approval for Prince of Peace School to install a wrought-iron security fence around the west side of campus, encompassing all external entrances to the school, our playgrounds, ball fields and interior parking lot (outside the Cana Center/gym). It will be 8 ft. high (see picture).
"I am grateful for everyone's generosity who helped us do this," says Faustin Weber, the school president. "This will serve as an added layer of protection for our students and staff. Together with the daily police presence, an expanded video surveillance system (still on-going) and new door access swipe systems, we think that POP has taken significant steps to keep our school safe. "
"And," Weber adds, "we believe the wrought iron fence will be a nice aesthetic improvement, compared to the chain link fence that exists now."
Installation of the fence will begin the first week of November and should be completed before Christmas.
