Bill Woodhouse, along with Kate and Ryan Woodhouse who attended Prince of Peace, established the Julie Woodhouse Memorial Scholarship.
Julie Woodhouse was a lifelong educator who dedicated her life to teaching young children. With over 25 years of service at Prince of Peace and Anne Frank Elementary, Julie made a lasting impact on her students. At Prince of Peace, she founded the elementary school’s Spanish Program before transitioning to teach 1st grade.
Julie was known for her radiant smile, which always lit up the classroom. She embodied the virtues of charity, kindness, and joy, pouring her heart into her students’ growth and success. Her unwavering commitment to their well-being and achievement made her a beloved figure among them, and she celebrated every milestone with pride. Everyone who knew Julie knew that she valued her relationships most, making the world a better place through her overwhelming love.
Julie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in November of 2022, and passed away only a few short months later. She loved her time at Prince of Peace and developed strong relationships with the families of the community.
The two $1,000 awards go to an 8th grade boy and girl from POP who will attend John Paul II High School next year. The candidates who receive this award are regarded by their peers and teachers as incredibly determined and passionate individuals who work tirelessly to achieve their goals while walking in the footsteps of Christ, as Julie did.
