Congratulations to our two-time Scripps National Spelling Bee school champion, eighth grade student Jordan T.! After an enervating 49 rounds, three long hours, and an impromptu relocation, Jordan triumphed for a second straight year with the winning word, “nullification.” As our back-to-back champion, Jordan will represent POP at the Diocese of Dallas Spelling Bee in January. Excitingly, POP has the privilege of hosting the bee with Jordan having finished first at last year’s diocesan competition.
We would also like to acknowledge our outstanding runners-up! The final five did an incredible job working their way through winding words as early as the twelfth round. Congratulations to fourth runner-up Axel C. ’27; third runner-up Nora A. ’28; second runner-up Markus U. ’26; and first runner-up Felipe M. ’26. Felipe will again compete as an alternate in this year’s diocesan competition.
We are incredibly #POPProud of each of those high-achieving logophiles and look forward to cheering on Jordan T. in pursuit of a two-peat diocesan championship this January!
